Dear Stella

I hope you had a Safe & Happy New Year!  Let's get 2013 off to a great start with some inspiration from Dear Stella!

We don't think Dear Stella gets enough hype and they really should with such fabulous fabric collections!  I went to their website and found quite a bit of inspiration on their projects page.  I snagged some of the pics and below you'll find a few free patterns and a few quilts featured in the book Modern Patchwork by Elizabeth Hartman.  This book has 12 quilts for the modern quilter, a must have if you're looking for something different.

Looptastic, from Modern Patchwork, features the Ostara Collection with blues, soft pinks and greys.  This versatile quilt would look great with any fabric style, modern or traditional.
Finished size for this smaller version is 63" x 63".

Know someone that loves to garden?  Honey, from Modern Patchwork, features the bright and cheerful Garden Party Collection.  I just love that little slice out of each piece, it really makes the quilt!
Finished size is 43" x 63".

Fire Drill, also from Modern Pathwork, features the Kallianthi Collection.  Pink, pink and more pink!
Finished size is 59" x 69".

Let's move on to some free patterns!

Portico Stripes features elegant clay and charcoal fabrics from the Portico Collection and can be downloaded here.
Finished size for a lap quilt is 441/2" x 601/2".  Instructions are included for larger sizes.

The Big Zig features fabric from the Ikebana Collection and can be downloaded here.
Finished size is 60" x 78" and instructions are included for larger sizes.

My personal favorite, the Whale Pillow, is made using the All Hands on Deck Collection by Jack & Lulu.
Download your free pattern here.
This happy whale measures 23" from head to tale.

Last, but certainly not least, a super cute Christmas stocking.  The train fabric is no longer in stock, but you can use the You've Been Jingled collection just as easily.
Download your free pattern here and get started so you're ready for next year!

So are you a believer?  Dear Stella is great quality fabric and they are honed in on the trendy, modern quilter!
